A Modular Backplane Computer (MBC)

This is a modular computer design based on a backplane and multiple plugin cards, designed by Andrew Lynch. The purpose of this project is to revisit the design concepts behind his original Z80 SBC which has evolved into the SBC V2-005 over several years. Attempts have been made to introduce some new concepts to make the design more modular, flexible, and less expensive, using low cost prototype PCBs (100x100mm) available for less than $20 including shipping from JLCPCB. Simple, single function boards are used to implement good program design concepts from Computer Science: high cohesion and low coupling. The goal is to maintain as much backward compatibility with the latest SBC V2 as possible.
